Argentina, 36 games unbeaten, one game away from equaling the record

Argentina defeated UAE 5-0 in a friendly match on Wednesday night before the Qatar World Cup. With the easy victory in the match in Abu Dhabi, Argentina extended their unbeaten run in international football to 36 matches.

Now, Argentina is one game away from equaling Italy’s record of undefeated for 37 consecutive games. Since losing to Brazil in the semi-finals of the 2019 Copa America, Argentina has not suffered a defeat.

Angel Di Maria and captain Lionel Messi gave an excellent performance to win Argentina in a warm-up game before the World Cup starting on Sunday in Qatar. Di Maria scored two goals, while Julian Alvarez and Jacqueline Correa, along with Messi, scored the same goal. Argentina scored four goals in the first half and one in the second half. Argentina, who is in Group C of the Qatar World Cup, will play its first match against Saudi Arabia on November 22. Mexico and Poland are also in this group.
