Proposal to increase the price of milk by Rs.10 per liter

President of Nepal Dairy Association Prahlad Dahal said that the National Dairy Development Board has proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development in coordination with Dairy Development Institute, Nepal Dairy Association, Dairy Industry Association and Central Dairy Cooperative Association. According to him, the union has prepared a price and cost study report and submitted it to the ministry. We have given a report to the secretary. The secretary has already given the report to the minister,” he said. “Information has come from the ministry that the proposal to increase the price of milk will be taken to the meeting of the Council of Ministers to be held today.” He said that milk production has been decreasing recently.

The industrialists have also demanded permission to import raw milk from India saying that milk production is low. Now the government has banned the import of milk and milk products.
