Japan also began to land a spacecraft on the surface of the moon

Japan has also started a campaign to land a spacecraft on the surface of the moon. BBC Hindi has reported that Japan’s Smart Lander for Investigating Moon Mission (Slim) was successfully launched this Thursday morning.

This mission is likely to land on the surface of the moon in about five months, i.e. next February. After the launch of this mission, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has congratulated Japan.

If this mission is successful, Japan will be the fifth country in the world to land on the surface of the moon. So far, only the US, Russia, China and India have successfully landed their missions on the moon.
